We’ll be promoting the day regularly on our social media channels, so please follow us and re-share our posts with your customers to let them know about the day. Invite your community to engage via your website, e-news and social media channels ask them to tag #LYBD2020 and to post and re-share!
Remember to like and engage with other ABA member’s posts to build engagement and excitement for the day. Search for the official hashtags to find, like and follow other member’s activities and unique celebrations.

There are so many fun and unique ways to celebrate LYBD2020 with your local community. We spoke to a selection of booksellers about what they love about LYBD and have collated their responses to spark some ideas and to help you plan a wonderful day!

This year ABA is running two public online competitions to promote LYBD2020. The first is a colouring competition for children and the second is a character drawing challenge for adults. Competition winners (three in each category) will receive the new Jubly-Umph x ABA pins and Australian Book Vouchers to be redeemed at their local bookshop.
If you have arranged local media for the day, you are planning to have a well-known author, illustrator or celebrity visit your store, or have an interesting activity that you think the media would like to report on please let us know so we can support you where possible.
We will also distribute to members a LYBD media release template closer to the date to fill in and send to your local media contacts if you’d like to reach out yourself.
